When the end comes along
To all it is the same,
Some quick some so long
Coffins and picture frames
Ceremonies for who is left
Silent moments unique facing death
In each one I have lived through
I stole a moment of our time
To slip into a pocket
Or maybe a hand
Something very sublime
Could be a grain of sand
Maybe cork from that bottle
From which we tugged
Its always something private
Forever linking our souls
In a time and a space
That only you and I know
So in the end
If mine before yours
I hope and I pray
You slip a little of you into me
Before I go up in the smoke
Sealing our moment in peace
